Pakistan Army Says 21 Pakistani Taliban Members Killed in Operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Pakistan’s military announced that security forces killed 21 members of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in a series of operations across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, including clashes near the Afghanistan border.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the military’s media wing, the operations were conducted between September 3 and 5 in areas including North Waziristan, Kohat, and Dera Ismail Khan.

The military said 10 TTP members were killed in North Waziristan after security forces engaged a group allegedly attempting to infiltrate Pakistan from Afghanistan. The statement added that seven more militants were killed in another operation in the same district, while four others were killed in separate clashes in Kohat and Dera Ismail Khan.

The Pakistani military also said that a previous border engagement on August 31 and September 1 had resulted in the deaths of 15 militants attempting to cross into Pakistan, bringing the total number of militants killed in that infiltration attempt, according to the army, to 25.

Pakistan has repeatedly accused Afghanistan’s Taliban authorities of failing to prevent armed groups from using Afghan territory to launch attacks against Pakistan. Kabul has rejected such accusations and denied allowing its territory to be used for attacks on neighboring countries.

The latest operations come amid continued security tensions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where Pakistan has reported an increase in militant attacks linked to the TTP and other armed groups in recent years
