Four people killed in bomb blast in southern Pakistan

Four people, including two bomb disposal squad personnel, have been killed in an explosion in southern city of Sukkur, state media reported on Wednesday.

 

Four people, including two bomb disposal squad personnel, have been killed in an explosion in southern city of Sukkur, state media reported on Wednesday.

The blast took place when personnel of Bomb Disposal Squad were defusing explosives planted at Rohri Cement Factory. The victims also included one Rangers official and a laborer.

The Sindh Chief Minister has demanded a detailed report about the incident, including where and how the explosives were placed inside the factory and who brought them there. Reports say 226 km of explosives were found in and around Rohri cement factory.

The security is on high alert in Pakistan ahead of Muharram whereas police and security agencies are carrying search operations in different parts of the country to avoid any untoward incident during the holy month.
