UK Muslim Organization Provides Qurans, Prayer Kits to Children in Care

A UK Muslim community organization has distributed Qurans, prayer mats, and religious items to Muslim children in the social care system as part of an initiative to support their religious and cultural needs.

The “Muslim Children in Care” project has provided more than 1,500 worship kits to children under local authority care and is seeking additional funding to expand the program.

Launched by social worker T. Jiva, the initiative aims to help children who may have lost connections with their communities due to migration, conflict, or family separation, while encouraging social workers and foster families to better support their religious identities.

Jiva called for year-round access to religious resources through local centers, preferably within mosques, and urged Islamic organizations to play a greater role in supporting Muslim children in care.
