Researcher, academic says Imam Hussein is an icon of freedom

The researcher and academic Dr. Abbas Emami, who lives in London, said that the image of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, within the diaspora communities is of utmost importance and is representative of freedom, pointing out that Sayed Al-Shahada, peace be upon him, is the Imam of freedom and that if all humanity had the opportunity, they would become his followers.

“The principles and values of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, have been spreading in various parts of the world, and this is what I noticed during my multiple visits, especially to African countries,” Emami said following their participation in the Holy Arbaeen.

He continued: “The spread of such great thoughts and principles is due to the spread of immigrants from the followers of Ahl Al-Bayt, peace be upon them, in various countries, who are known for their Hussein morals and sense of cooperation with other communities.”

Emami added that “the human societies today are influenced by the thoughts of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, his divine cause and his pure biography, in which he reflects an image of the good manners of his grandfather, the Holy Prophet of Islam, peace be upon him and his family.”

The researcher pointed out that “the Shia husseiniyas, foundations, centers around the world have succeeded in turning non-Muslim people to follow the Ahlulbayt’s, peace be upon them, teachings and principles, even people living in remote areas of the world.
