Kadhimiya Holy Shrine continues construction works of Imam al-Baqir Courtyard

Al-Kadhimiya Holy Shrine in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, confirmed on Wednesday that it is intensifying its efforts to complete the construction of Imam al-Baqir Courtyard adjacent to Al-Kadhimiya Holy Shrine.

Sources from the holy shrine told Shia Waves Agency: “After three years, the construction and development works of Imam Baqir Courtyard have reached final stages, under the supervision of the head of the Shia Awqaf Department.”

They explained that “the project is located on the north side of the Holy Kadhimiya Courtyard, and is built on an area of (8 thousand square meters),” noting that “the courtyard consists of two floors and a basement, and can accommodate thousands of pilgrims, as well as important and large facilities.”

The sources confirmed that “this major project is an important achievement that will help accommodate the increasing numbers of pilgrims coming to this holy city around the year.”
