Karbala Holy Shrines begin mourning ceremonies

The Imam Hussein and Abu Al-Fadl Al-Abbas Holy Shrines announced, today Thursday, part of their mourning programs and activities that they carry out every year before the month of sorrow, Muharram, begins.

The Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain, peace be upon him, said in statements, received by Shia Waves Agency, that the black banner of the holy dome has been sewn to replace the red one.

While the Al-Abbas Holy Shrine announced that the large tent of mourning procession has been erected in the holy shrine to recall what happened to Imam Hussein and his family members, peace be upon them.

It should be mentioned that on the night of Muharram, the Two Holy Shrines organize the banner-replacement ceremony to replace the banners of the holy domes. Large crowds of mourners attend this ceremony from different Iraqi provinces and other countries.
