300,000 Foreign and Arab Pilgrims Attend Prophet’s Martyrdom Anniversary in Holy Najaf

Iraq’s Interior Minister and head of the High Security Committee for mass pilgrimages, Abdul Amir al-Shammari, announced that around 300,000 Arab and foreign pilgrims participated in the commemoration of Prophet Muhammad’s (peace be upon him and his family) martyrdom anniversary at the shrine of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) in Holy Najaf.

The minister made the statement during a virtual meeting chaired by Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, attended by local officials and security leaders. He confirmed that the ceremonies proceeded smoothly without any security incidents, despite difficult weather conditions, crediting the coordinated efforts of security, military, and service agencies.
