Saudi Arabia uses AI to accommodate Hajj pilgrims

Saudi Arabia is leveraging smart technologies and AI-driven platforms to support nearly two million pilgrims during this year’s Hajj pilgrimage, Middle East Monitor reported.
Authorities introduced several digital services to enhance pilgrims’ experience and safety. One key innovation is Manarah 2, an AI robot available in more than 20 languages, providing real-time assistance at major locations. The Nusuk cards allow pilgrims to book visits to the Holy Rawdah at the Prophet’s Mosque and store contact and accommodation details, reducing cases of lost or missing individuals.
The Makkah Bus Guidance Centre, working with the Nusuk and Arshidni platforms, ensures safe and accurate transportation for pilgrims. The Tawakkalna health app monitors pilgrims’ health and facilitates access to medical services. Additionally, the Smart Enrichment Assistant app offers multilingual information on prayer times, imam schedules, and religious classes.
Other initiatives include the Makkah Route Initiative to streamline travel procedures, a luggage coding system for efficient baggage delivery, and Quran learning apps to enhance spiritual engagement. Over 1.2 million pilgrims have arrived so far, preparing for the Hajj, the fifth pillar of Islam.
