Iftar Event Celebrates Unity Among Faiths in Washington DC

Muslims and non-Muslims gathered for a special Iftar meal earlier this week, promoting unity and understanding during Ramadan, Rudaw reported. This marked the second consecutive year that the event has brought together individuals from diverse faith communities to break their fast.

Ibrahim Anli, Executive Director of the Rumi Forum, emphasized the importance of collaboration among faith groups in defending religious freedom for vulnerable populations worldwide. The gathering highlighted a shared commitment to preserving these values.

U.S. Ambassador for International Religious Freedom, Sam Brownback, echoed this sentiment, stating that peace cannot be achieved without religious tolerance. He stressed that mutual respect and understanding are essential for building sustainable societies.

With over four million American Muslims, the community actively contributes to the promotion of tolerance and peace, owning numerous mosques and religious centers across the country. During Ramadan, they continue to exemplify these values, fostering dialogue and cooperation among different faiths.
