Arbaeen peace march in Phulpur, West Bengal

The Bengali-language (Noor) news agency reported that a group of Shias in the city of Phulpur, West Bengal, organized a peaceful march to commemorate the Arbaeen anniversary of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).

According to what was reported by the agency and followed by Shia Waves News Agency, a group of Shia mourners gathered in the city of Phulpur to participate in the mourning procession on the Arbaeen of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).

It added that “the participants in the peaceful march walked for a distance of 7 kilometers from the Dumanpur area, led by the director of the Karbala Foundation, Pir Sadat Ali Al-Qadri,” noting that “the march was attended by mourners from different regions of the state.”

The news agency explained that “the mourning procession was attended by university professors, media professionals, intellectuals, clergymen, ministers and a group of mourners of men, women and children,” adding that “the participants conveyed a message of peace to the world about the humanitarian issue of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).”

The agency indicated that “despite the scorching heat of the sun, mourners were keen to revive their peaceful march in which they roamed the city’s streets.”
