Employ of Israel Antiquities Authority shows at the office in Jerusalem on July 26, 2022 a Spectacular rare coin depicting the moon goddess discovered off the Carmel northern Israel coast. The 1,850-year-old coin shows the sign of Cancer and the figure of the moon goddess recovered during a survey by The Israel Antiquities Authority’s Marine Archaeology Unit.

Archaeologists have unveiled a nearly 1,900-year-old coin discovered in the Mediterranean.

The bronze coin, which archaeologists say has been preserved “extremely well” against the passage of time, is from the ancient Roman period.

The 1850 coin shows Luna, the goddess of the moon in Roman mythology.
