The 2nd edition of the Global Islamic Economy Summit organized by AlBaraka commenced on Friday in Istanbul, aiming to empower Islamic financial and non-financial institutions to achieve sustainable growth and make a significant impact on the global economy through innovative strategies, Anadolu Agency reported.

The two-day event is held in partnership with Türkiye’s Investment Office, the Istanbul Financial Center (IFC), Albaraka Turk Bank, Ibn Haldun University, and the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF). It brings together high-level officials, experts, and private sector representatives.

The summit focuses on enhancing operational efficiency, fostering innovation, strengthening risk management, promoting financial inclusion, and encouraging collaboration among industry stakeholders by deepening the understanding of Islamic economic principles.

Attendees are expected to engage in high-level discussions on integrating Islamic economic values into broader economic frameworks.

At the opening ceremony, Yousef Hassan Khalawi, secretary-general of the AlBaraka Forum for Islamic Economy, emphasized the goal of creating new pathways rather than simply following existing ones. He highlighted ongoing efforts in cities such as Istanbul, Medina, London, Kuala Lumpur, Karachi, and Cairo.

He also stressed the importance of launching more initiatives within the Islamic economic ecosystem to further its development.
