The Shia Foundation in Chicago makes remarkable presence in the American society
The Shia Islamic Foundation in Chicago, which includes a mosque and a scientific academy, has recorded a remarkable Shia presence during its 15 years of establishment, which was influential even on American citizens.
In a statement published on the occasion of its founding, the Foundation stated that it “succeeded in reuniting 200 Shia families, who originally immigrated to the United States from Southeast Asia, East Africa, the Middle East, and the local Americans who converted to the Shia sect.”
The statement explained that “the foundation, which was established in 2003, has scientific, religious and cultural activities, as well as the revival of Husseini rituals within the American society.”
It indicated that “during these years, a large mosque was established, as well as an academy (Beit Al-Ilm) and charitable activities were established to help the needy and the poor.”
The Foundation seeks to promote the issues of the Shia community and introduce the doctrine of the Pure Progeny (peace be upon them) and their true principles.
