Ahlulbayt followers in the state of Virginia raise the call of “Ya Hussein” and revive the holy Husseini rituals
Followers of the Ahlulbayt (peace be upon them) in the US state of Virginia have started their special ceremonies in commemoration of the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him.
Mourners from the Shia community and state citizens gathered in a mourning procession, which was launched to mark the beginning of the season of sorrows, and was organized by the Imam Ali (peace be upon him) Center and the Muhammadiya Center in the state.
“Despite the clouds and rainfall, men, women and even children went out to participate in the commemoration of the painful memory,” said organizers of the united mourning procession in an interview with Shia Waves News Agency.
They explained: “Shias in Virginia commemorate the tragedy that befell the Master of the Martyrs (peace be upon him) every year, as they wear black throughout the months of Muharram and Safar and hold their mourning gatherings in memory of Ashura.”
The organizers added that “the Shia communities in the state, regardless of their nationalities, are keen to commemorate the Husseini mourning, and create a beautiful scene in their Husseini processions.”
