Interfaith Ramadan Iftar dinner held at Islamic Education Center Husaini in Chicago
Approximately 300 people gathered at the Islamic Education Center, IEC Husaini, in Chicago, Illinois, for an interfaith Iftar dinner.
The event aimed to build networks between diverse groups to strengthen unity and understanding between all faiths.
The guest list included Glendale Heights Mayor Chodri Khokhar; Father Corey Brost, executive director of Viator House of Hospitality; Professor Andrew Smith; Leyla Yurtsever; Molly Schless; and several others.
The ceremony started with a recitation of the holy Quran by Sajjad Naqvi, followed by speeches by youth speakers Leyla Yurtsever and Molly Schless. Father Corey Brost was one of the keynote speakers, who spoke about the blessings of this holy month, while extending thanks and appreciation to the IEC for hosting the event.
Mayor Khokhar highlighted the importance of integrating the Muslim community into American society.
