Over 51,000 mosques in Morocco, Minister of Islamic Affairs states

The Moroccan Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, Ahmed Al-Tawfiq, stated on Wednesday that the number of mosques in the country is more than 51,000.
He added that there is a need to build about 200 mosques annually, improve the infrastructure of existing mosques and restore a number of them.
Al-Tawfiq pointed out that there are about 2,216 closed mosques, and 723 of them are in the process of being rehabilitated to reopen.
