Heavy rainfall destroys hundreds of homes in Sudan’s north

More than 450 homes have been destroyed in Sudan’s north due to heavy rains, the country’s official media reported.

Medics and aid groups warned earlier that the rainy season, which began in June, could raise risk of malnutrition, vector-borne diseases and displacement across the country

This wave of heavy rains comes approximately four months into a brutal fight between the army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces that has decimated infrastructure and forced millions into hunger.
