Somali-American Senator’s Campaign Office Targeted with Islamophobic Threat in Minneapolis
——————————
The campaign office of Fadumo Fatah, a Somali-American State Senator for Minnesota and candidate for Minneapolis Mayor, has been targeted with vandalism and an Islamophobic threatening message.
According to CNN, the senator, who has been dubbed “Mamdani II” in some circles, reported the incident where the words “Somali Muslim – This is not a joke warning” were graffitied on his campaign office wall.
Senator Fatah confirmed that this is not an isolated incident. Over recent months, he has repeatedly faced racist messages and threats of violence directed at him via emails and social media platforms as his mayoral campaign has progressed.
