The United Nations Special Rapporteur on extrajudicial, summary, or arbitrary executions, Agnes Callamard, called on the United States to impose sanctions on the Saudi crown prince targeting his personal assets as well as his international participation.
The UN investigator considered that Washington should not grant immunity to the Saudi crown prince from civil lawsuits and to ensure that all information is revealed confidentially.
Callamard called Saudi Arabia to reveal the fate of Khashoggi’s body and whether it was disposed of at the consulate in Istanbul.
Earlier, the US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi considered that the government should reassess the relationship with Saudi Arabia, after the intelligence report on the killing of the Saudi journalist, Jamal Khashoggi.
