Quran teaching plan underway in Iraq’s universities

According to Al-Kafeel website, the Quranic institute affiliated to the Center for Islamic and Human Teachings affiliated to the holy shrine of al-Abbas, peace be upon him, in Karbala carries out the Quranic plan.
The academic relations branch of the holy shrine is cooperating in implementing it all over the country.
Educational courses, seminars, forums and Quran competitions are different parts of the plan.
Sheikh Javad Nasrawi, director of the institute, said that among the achievements of the previous editions of the plan were various educational courses held under the supervision of eminent Quran experts.
He added that more than 2000 students at 10 universities of the country benefited from the Quranic plan last year.
Ali Hamd, a member of the supervising committee, said most of the universities pay special attention to the educational aspect of the plan.
Stressing the need for development and implementation of the plan by the Education Ministry, he added that it should not to be limited to the teaching of Quran recitation principles.
