Ammar Al-Fardan and Ahmed Jaber were taken into custody last Thursday before being transferred to the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation.
The directorate is a branch of the kingdom’s security apparatus that has a reputation for torturing the regime’s political opponents and critics.
There is no word yet on whether Al-Fardan and Jaber are being charged with a crime or what they are being accused of.
The thousands of Bahrainis detained in recent years are often denied their right to a lawyer and face ill-treatment in detention.
