A competition on memorization and recitation of the Holy Quran was held in the city of Perm, central Russia.
According to reports, 50 participants competed in the three categories of the event, namely memorization of the entire Quran, memorization of two parts of the Quran and recitation.
It was held for male Quran reciters and memorizers only.
The competition aims at promoting memorization and recitation of the Quran and fostering the teachings of the Holy Book.
