The Supreme Religious Authority, His Eminence Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi, has long been affirming that the observance of the holy Husseini rituals is a sufficient duty for the believers whether those who observe them are sufficient, or it is an obligation for those with the ability to do them, and it’s greatly rewarded.

This came in a response to a question asked about the establishment of the blessed Husseini rituals, especially in light of Covid-19. His Eminence affirms that the Husseini rituals will always be established regardless of the circumstances.

While the believers responded to the fatwa of the religious authority on the Sufficient Jihad to fight the enemies of Islam represented by ISIS, this fatwa comes to the necessity of establishing all the holy rituals in order to fight another kind of enemy represented by the Covid-19 pandemic, provided that the believers adhere to all the preventive measures. 

The positions of His Eminence, Grand Ayatollah al-Shirazi, regarding the establishment of the Husseini rituals are constant and have not changed, due to their greatness and considering it as a basic pillar for the religion and preserving the greatness and permanence of the doctrine of Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them.

His Eminence had stated on a previous occasion that whoever prevents the establishment of the Husseini rituals and tries to minimize them will be severely punished by God.
