Grand Ayatollah Shirazi on Eid al-Ghadir: A society of freedom can only be achieved by submitting to the mandate of the Commander of the Faithful, peace be upon him
The Supreme Religious Authority, Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi, affirmed that access to a society of freedom based on human justice can only be achieved by submitting to the mandate of the Commander of the Faithful, Ali ibn Abi Talib, peace be upon him.
His Eminence said in a speech on the occasion of God’s Greatest Day: “One of the important and main conditions to lead us to a society of freedom based on justice, morals and the supremacy of human moral values and virtues is that we accept what the Messenger of God conveyed on the Day of Ghadir, and that we submit to the mandate of the Commander of the Faithful, peace be upon him.”
The Grand Ayatollah clarified that “the adoption of the mandate has a formative effect, and necessitates blessings and bounties pouring out on people from earth and heaven,” pointing out that “Al-Ghadir is the nursery of virtues, morals, and good deeds. Because it is the most important factor in preserving the entity of religion and sect, and its denial is a denial of all the lofty Islamic values that extend over the vast religion of Islam.”
His Eminence pointed out that “every creed that does not overlook the source of al-Ghadir, it is not upon anything,” noting that “al-Ghadir in its essence and spirit means the school of the Commander of the Faithful, peace be upon him, which is suitable for the happiness of all humankind.”
