Daily Session of Grand Ayatollah Shirazi with scholars, believers in Qom

The Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi met with a group of scholars and believers in his daily scientific session held at his honorable house in the holy city of Qom.

During the daily session, which was held on Thursday, 14 Dhul-Hijjah 1443 AH (7/14/2022 AD), one of the attendees asked:

“Is it forbidden touching the words or lines of the Noble Quran that is installed on a mobile phone?”

His Eminence, Grand Ayatollah Shirazi, replied:

“It is forbidden to touch the words of the Noble Quran without ablution, just as it is disliked to touch the cover and the edges of the Holy Book without ablution. As for touching the words or lines of an electronic Noble Quran installed on a mobile phone, if it is customarily counted as touching the Quran, it will be forbidden, and if it is not considered customary, there is no problem with it.”

After that, His Eminence answered many other inquiries on various subjects posed by those present in the session, including: the meaning of disobedience to parents, the difference in usury in loans and transactions, the meaning of ‘irfan’ (knowledge) in the Sharia, and the discussion on ‘the copies of the Noble Quran’.
