Global Commemorations Mark Martyrdom Anniversary of Lady Fatima al-Zahra (peace be upon her) at Shirazi-affiliated Centers

Shirazi-affiliated religious centers and Hussainiyas in several countries around the world have held mourning ceremonies and religious programs commemorating the martyrdom anniversary of Lady Fatima al-Zahra (peace be upon her), according to the narration placing her martyrdom forty days after the passing of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family).

A mourning gathering was held at the residence of Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi in the holy city of Qom on Sunday morning, 8 Rabi‘ al-Thani 1448 AH. The ceremony was attended by scholars, seminary students, religious figures and followers of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them). The speaker addressed the life of Lady Fatima al-Zahra (peace be upon her), highlighting her sacrifices, her role in supporting Islam after the Prophet’s passing, and the events surrounding her suffering and hardships.

Similar Fatimid mourning programs were organized across several countries, including Sweden, Lebanon, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Canada and Australia, with the participation of large numbers of believers.

In Stockholm, Sweden, Imam al-Hasan al-Mujtaba Hussainiya held a mourning gathering focusing on the biography of Lady Fatima al-Zahra (peace be upon her) and the events following the martyrdom of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family).

In Iran, Fatimid ceremonies were held in cities including Yazd and Isfahan. The Karbala Hussainiya in Yazd hosted a program featuring Quran recitation, religious lectures and mourning rituals, while a symbolic funeral procession for Lady Fatima al-Zahra (peace be upon her) was held in Isfahan.

In Baghdad, Iraq, the Ahl al-Bayt Center for Islamic Thought organized a Fatimid gathering attended by scholars, religious students and believers, including Quran recitation, speeches on the suffering of Lady Fatima al-Zahra (peace be upon her), and mourning ceremonies.

In Beirut, Lebanon, the Hussainiya of Imam Husayn ibn Ali (peace be upon him) hosted a women’s mourning gathering dedicated to remembering the life and virtues of Lady Fatima al-Zahra (peace be upon her).

Fatimid programs also continued in Afghanistan, particularly in Kabul, Bamiyan and Mazar-e Sharif, featuring lectures, mourning sessions, women’s gatherings and charitable food distribution. In Canada, the Imam Shirazi Global Center in Montreal organized a ceremony that included congregational prayer, Quran recitation, Hadith al-Kisa, a religious speech and mourning rituals.

In Sydney, Australia, Ale Yasin Hussainiya hosted gatherings attended by followers of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), who commemorated the anniversary through religious programs and mourning ceremonies.
