The Grand Ayatollah Shirazi Calls for Using the Ninth of Rabi’ al-Awwal to Spread the Teachings of Ahl al-Bayt (Peace be upon them)

The supreme religious authority, His Eminence Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi, emphasized that the noble narratives indicate the existence of two “Ghadirs.” He urged the faithful and the Shia of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) to seize the occasion of the ninth of the month of Rabi’ al-Awwal to guide people and introduce them to the teachings of the pure household.

His Eminence explained that the first Ghadir coincides with the eighteenth of the month of Dhu al-Hijjah, while the second Ghadir occurs on the ninth of the month of Rabi’ al-Awwal, clarifying that referring to them as the first and second Ghadirs is due to their chronological order.

Grand Ayatollah Shirazi called upon the followers of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) to leverage this occasion to strengthen their connection to religious teachings and disseminate the culture of Ahl al-Bayt among various segments of society.

His Eminence stated: “It is incumbent upon the believers and the followers of Imam Amir al-Mu’minin, peace be upon him, to take advantage of the ninth of Rabi’ al-Awwal, by doing their utmost to guide people and bring them closer to the teachings of Ahl al-Bayt, peace be upon them, and to strive diligently in fulfilling this responsibility.”

Grand Ayatollah Shirazi emphasizes in his directives the importance of commemorating the occasions of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), expressing joy during their joyous events and sorrow in their times of grief, based on the words of the infallible Imam (peace be upon him): “They rejoice in our joy.”

He also stresses that expressing joy during the occasions of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) represents one of the divine rituals that believers should maintain and revive, alongside their attention to observing the occasions of mourning and tribulations. This contributes to establishing a deep connection with the legacy of Ahl al-Bayt and their teachings in society.
