“Imam of Life” Blood Donation Campaign Launched Across Several Islamic Countries
—————————-
A global blood donation campaign titled “Imam of Life” has been launched in several Islamic countries to mark the anniversary of the Sha‘baniyah births, with broad participation from followers of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) for the 16th consecutive year.
The campaign saw dozens of participants in multiple countries take part in blood donation drives organized by the Youth Association of Followers of the Supreme Religious Authority, Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq al-Hussaini al-Shirazi. The initiative aims to support wounded patients and those receiving treatment in hospitals and medical centers, while promoting values of humanitarian giving and social solidarity.
Organizers told Shia Waves Agency that the launch of the “Imam of Life” campaign coincided with the anniversary of the birth of Imam Hussayn (peace be upon him), Abalfazl al-Abbas, Imam al-Sajjad, and Imam al-Mahdi (peace be upon them) during the holy month of Sha‘ban. They said the campaign seeks to honor these occasions and draw inspiration from the principles of sacrifice and selflessness associated with the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).
According to the organizers, the campaign is held in line with the directives of Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq al-Hussaini al-Shirazi, who has encouraged designating the birth anniversary of Imam al-Husayn (peace be upon him) as a day dedicated to humanitarian service and community support.
Participants said their blood donations were intended as a symbolic act of solidarity with the values represented by Imam Husayn (peace be upon him), emphasizing their commitment to humanitarian action inspired by his example.
