Jeddah Hosts Islamic Arts Biennale 2025
The Islamic Arts Biennale 2025, titled And All That Is In Between, has officially opened in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Arch Daily reported.
Organized by the Diriyah Biennale Foundation, this year’s event is hosted at the Western Hajj Terminal of King Abdulaziz International Airport, a site vital for millions of Muslim pilgrims. The exhibition, designed by the renowned architecture firm OMA, runs until May 25, 2025, showcasing over 500 objects and artworks across five halls and outdoor spaces.
Featuring contributions from over 30 international institutions, the Biennale highlights the rich diversity of Islamic artistic traditions. A significant attraction is the public display of the complete Kiswah, the cloth that adorned the Holy Kaaba. Additionally, 29 newly commissioned works engage with historical artifacts, fostering dialogue between past and present.
The Biennale also includes a public program with talks, workshops, and events, reinforcing its role as a key platform for Islamic arts and cultural exchange in Saudi Arabia’s evolving landscape.
