5 Killed in Suspected Suicide Bombing in Southwest Pakistan

A suspected suicide bombing targeted a paramilitary convoy in Noshki, Balochistan, on Sunday, killing at least five people, including three Frontier Corps troops, and injuring over 43 others, Anadolu Agency reported. The Pakistan Army’s media wing reported that a vehicle-borne suicide bomber rammed an explosive-laden car into the convoy.

Local media initially reported a higher death toll of seven. Noshki police chief Hashim Momand confirmed that more than 30 paramilitary personnel were among the wounded. In a subsequent operation, three suspected terrorists were killed.

Authorities suspect the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) to be behind the attack, which follows a recent incident where BLA militants hijacked a passenger train, resulting in 26 deaths. Officials fear the death toll may rise as several injured remain in critical condition.

Violence has surged in Pakistan, particularly in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with recent attacks attributed to the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
