Five Killed, 20 Injured in Sherani Bus Accident
A tragic accident occurred on Saturday when a passenger coach plunged into a ravine along the Zhob-Islamabad highway near Dhanasar in Sherani district, Balochistan, Dawn reported yesterday.
The coach, en route from Islamabad to Quetta via Dera Ismail Khan, lost control, resulting in five fatalities and 20 injuries, including the driver. Sherani Deputy Commissioner Sana Mahjabeen Umrani confirmed the casualties, stating that rescue teams quickly responded to the scene, transporting the injured and deceased to Zhob district hospital.
Six individuals are reported to be in serious condition and have been transferred to the trauma center in Quetta. Authorities have identified speeding as the likely cause, and Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has called for an investigation into the incident.
