Pakistan: Grenade attack at mosque kills 1 cop, injures 6 others

A police officer was killed and six others were injured on Monday in a grenade attack at a mosque in southwestern Pakistan, Arab News reported.

No one immediately claimed responsibility for the attack which occurred near Quetta, the capital of Balochistan province, the source mentioned.

This came a day after a motorcycle bomb blast killed two people and injured five in Khuzdar.

Balochistan has been facing a surge in militant attacks, despite government claims of quelling the insurgency for years.
