Iraqi-French agreement on museum development, Islamic artifacts

Iraqi museum experts discussed with the management of the French Louvre Museum the mechanisms for developing museum cultural and scientific programs and using their invaluable contents to introduce important human heritage, most notably the artifacts of the ancient Islamic civilization.

A number of Iraqi experts in museum management, including the director of the Imam Hussein Museum, responded to an official invitation to visit the Louvre Museum in Paris and a number of French museums.

In press statements followed by Shia Waves Agency, the experts considered that “this invitation is a first of its kind and supports the work of museums in Iraq and their goals to introduce precious Islamic artifacts that document a long history of the ancient Islamic civilization.”

It is worth mentioning that the Imam Hussein Museum, affiliated with Imam Hussein Holy Shrine in Holy Karbala, today includes many Islamic and global historical artifacts, as well as precious artifacts that are thousands of years old and were presented as gifts by kings, princes and lovers of Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them.
