Iraq: Ministry of Interior announces readiness to secure massive pilgrimage of martyrdom anniversary of Imam al-Kadhim

The Iraqi Minister of Interior, Abd al-Amir al-Shammari, announced on Saturday the security readiness for the commemoration of the martyrdom of Imam al-Kadhim (peace be upon him).

In a statement received by Shia Waves Agency, the Iraqi Ministry of Interior said, that “the Minister of Interior, head of the security committee to secure the Rajab Pilgrimage, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, held a security conference inside the shrines of the two Imams Musa Al-Kadhim and Muhammad Al-Jawad, peace be upon them both, during which he announced security readiness for the commemoration of the martyrdom of Imam Al-Kadhim, peace be upon him, to be marked on the 25th of the month of Rajab.”

The conference was attended by Baghdad Operations Commander, head of Shia Endowment Board, and other top officials.

The minister stressed, according to the statement, that “the security plan has become ready, as it depends on accurate intelligence information and security units have been deployed to carry out their duties to provide full security for the honorable pilgrims.
