Iraq cancels the requirement for travelers to have an international vaccination card and makes wearing a mask optional
On Wednesday, the Iraqi Ministry of Health decided to cancel the requirement for travelers to have an international vaccination card, while giving citizens the option to wear a mask.
Shia Waves News Agency received a ministry document which stated, “it was decided not to require the arrivals to Iraq or those leaving it (Iraqis and foreigners) to have an international certificate of vaccination for Covid-19, starting from December, and wearing a mask in all open and closed public facilities, including places of worship, mosques, restaurants, ceremony halls –except in health institutions and facilities – is optional.”
The ministry also mentioned in its document, “We call on all ministries, departments and non-governmental institutions to take measures to urge their employees to get vaccinated with the Covid-19 vaccine, which is available in all the health centers in Baghdad and the provinces, and it has proven its effectiveness in reducing Covid-19 cases, as well as in reducing the rate of complications and deaths resulting from them.”
