Global Shia Campaign Aids Myanmar’s Quake-Hit Religious Centers

The humanitarian campaign “Imam Hussein for All” continues efforts to help rebuild Shia religious centers and Hussainiyas destroyed by a powerful earthquake that struck parts of Myanmar three months ago. The initiative, launched by followers of Ahl al-Bayt from various countries, was reported to have drawn widespread participation from Shia communities worldwide.

Campaign supervisor Sayyid Hussein al-Moussawi al-Ahwazi said many damaged Hussainiyas still require financial support to complete reconstruction, noting that the solidarity shown by believers has deeply moved Myanmar’s Shia population. He added that the campaign has revived hope among affected families and demonstrated that devotion to Ahl al-Bayt transcends national and linguistic barriers.

Launched on the birth anniversary of Imam Hasan al-Askari (peace be upon him), the global campaign seeks to promote Ahl al-Bayt teachings and provide humanitarian aid in underprivileged areas. Organizers said the initiative has also supported projects in African countries such as Niger, Rwanda, Burundi, and Tanzania, including well-drilling in Ivory Coast and educational and social programs aimed at strengthening Shia presence in marginalized regions.
