Iraqi Airstrikes Eliminate Militants in Salahuddin and Kirkuk

The Iraqi Air Force carried out two precision airstrikes that killed several militants and destroyed their hideouts in Salahuddin and Kirkuk provinces, according to the Joint Operations Command. In a statement, the command said the strikes were part of ongoing efforts to pursue remnants of extremist groups across the country.
The first operation took place on August 12, when F-16 fighter jets targeted a hideout in Wadi al-Shay, east of Salahuddin. The location, monitored for several days through intelligence surveillance, was destroyed, resulting in the deaths of the militants inside.
A second strike followed on August 14, when Iraqi aircraft struck another militant position within the Kirkuk operations sector. Military officials stressed that security forces continue to monitor insurgent activity closely and will not allow extremist groups to find safe havens in Iraq.
