Three Million Foreign Pilgrims Arrive in Iraq for Arbaeen
————————–
More than 3 million foreign pilgrims have entered Iraq for the annual Arbaeen procession, according to Iraqi Interior Minister Abdul Amir Al-Shammari as quoted on IQNA.ir. Al-Shammari made the announcement in Najaf, a key city along the pilgrimage route.

The minister stated that rescue forces, civil defense, and medical services are on high alert. He confirmed that the security plan for the event is being implemented effectively, with security units from other governorates providing assistance in Najaf. A new traffic plan has also been put in place to separate pedestrian and vehicle routes, a measure Al-Shammari credits for a decrease in accidents this year. The minister attributed the positive results to the installation of surveillance cameras, new radars, road patrols, and the full readiness of the General Directorate of Traffic.

Arbaeen is the world’s largest annual pilgrimages, commemorating the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).
