“Hussein Unites Us”: Youth Forum in Baghdad Highlights Tolerance and National Unity
……………….
A national youth forum titled “Hussein Unites Us” was held in Baghdad, organized by the Government Communication Team in cooperation with the Bayt Al-Hikma Foundation. The event brought together young participants from across Iraq’s provinces and communities, underscoring themes of unity, dialogue, and shared national identity.
Held as part of the “Among Our People” campaign, the forum drew the participation of senior officials, including the head of the Government Communication Team, the chairman of Bayt Al-Hikma’s Board of Trustees, the head of the Security Media Cell, and a number of public figures. The program fostered meaningful discussions on national cohesion and the role of youth in building a more inclusive society.
The forum opened with a recitation of Al-Fatiha in memory of Iraq’s martyrs and victims of the recent tragedy in Kut. Throughout the event, speakers emphasized the enduring relevance of Imam Hussein’s values—sacrifice, justice, and reform—and the responsibility of younger generations to embody these principles in efforts to promote unity and reject division.
The forum concluded with a poem by Anbar poet Ibrahim Al-Abdali, reflecting on the unifying power of Imam Hussein’s legacy. The event is part of a broader initiative aimed at empowering Iraqi youth and strengthening ties between them and public institutions, in support of greater civic engagement and national solidarity.
