The Daily Session of the Supreme Religious Authority, Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi, was held in his honorable house in the holy city of Qom, on Friday morning, corresponding to the eighth of the holy month of Dhul-Hijjah 1443 AH (8/7/2022), with scholars, virtuous people, and believers. One of the attendees asked:

“What is the ruling on praying behind a non-Shia imam, or a Shia imam whose justice is not known?”

His Eminence replied:

“According to the honorable narrations, the leader of the congregation, or the imam, must be a believer and just, and if there is doubt in his faith or justice, the one should not prayed behind him.”

Then the session continued with many other questions posed by the attendees, and answered by His Eminence, including: the permissibility of seeking the help of infidels to build a building, the ruling on congregational prayer with the public in the case of Taqqiya, and the permissibility of performing prayers on a silk rug.
