Persian Medicine Experts to Provide Health Services for Arba’een
——————————
The Iranian health ministry has organized a team of Persian medicine experts to offer health services to pilgrims during the Arba’een pilgrimage, Tehran Times reported. The team, which includes doctors, nurses, masseurs, and translators, has been deployed to provide care during one of the world’s largest religious gatherings.
To ensure the quality of care, the Iranian Traditional Medicine Association provided specialized training for the staff, including Arabic language skills, massage and acupuncture techniques for pain management, and other forms of care. The team also plans to distribute 5,000 health packages containing ointments, oils, and herbs to help pilgrims with common health issues they may encounter during their journey.
This initiative follows the 5th International Congress on “Health in Arbaeen” held in Tehran, which aimed to educate physicians on healthcare challenges during the pilgrimage. The congress focused on familiarizing doctors with endemic diseases that could be spread by pilgrims from countries such as Afghanistan and Pakistan who travel through Iran to reach Iraq.
