Bahraini authorities expel Kuwaiti reciter Muhammad al-Hujairat from its lands after he revived Husseini mourning ceremonies

Yesterday, the Bahraini authorities expelled the Kuwaiti recite Muhammad al-Hujairat from the country, after he revived the Husseini mourning ceremonies, while bloggers and activists described the decision as arbitrary aimed at preventing Ashura manifestations.

The Bahraini authorities showed their lack of respect for religious rights, and their continued suppression of Husseini rituals established by its citizens who are followers of the Ahlulbayt (peace be upon them).

Al-Hujairat confirmed in his tweet on Twitter the authenticity of this news, and confirmed that he “voluntarily responded to the Bahraini decision and left the country out of respect for the sanctity of the painful days of Ashura.”

He added, “To prevent strife and disturbance to the mourning ceremonies and its people, I left Bahrain and returned to my country.”

For their part, activists and bloggers condemned the Bahraini government’s decision, stressing that “such decisions are not the first of their kind, as the regime has set its goals to prevent the establishment of sacred rituals and suppress the Shias in the country.”

The security authorities have tightened their procedures against Gulf Shias coming to Bahrain during the Ashura season.
