UN Body Warns Children in Afghanistan Denied Education Due to Lack of Water and Sanitation Services

Tajudeen Oyewale, the representative of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Afghanistan, has announced that children in Afghanistan, particularly girls, are unable to attend school due to a lack of water and sanitation services, Hasht-e-Subh Daily reported.
In a statement released on Monday, July 21, Oyewale noted that nine schools in Logar province have been equipped with clean water and sanitation facilities.
According to him, more than 2,300 students will benefit from these services.
UNICEF had previously warned that by 2030, Kabul’s water resources will be completely depleted.
It is worth noting that most children in Afghanistan’s schools do not have access to clean water.
