Ayatollah Allameh Talib Johari, a well-known Shia thinker, poet and orator from Bahar, India, has passed away in the city of Karachi.
Allameh Johari moved to Iraq to study jurisprudence at the Najaf Seminary under the Ayatollahs of his time, namely the late Grand Ayatollah Khoei and the late Sayyed Mohammad Baqir Sadr.
The Ayatollah was skilled in writing and composing poetry in Urdu, Persian, and Arabic, and has lectured on various religious occasions in the United States and the United Arab Emirates.
His lectures and activities during Muharram, especially on Ashura night, were broadcasted live every year on Pakistan’s national network, making him a popular figure in the country.
Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmoud Qureshi and many leaders of Pakistan’s religious and political parties expressed their condolences to the Shia community for their loss.
