The Fijian Islamic Council demanded the provision of mosques, Islamic schools and Muslims.
Koya, head of the Khalil mosque in Lautoka, Fiji’s second largest city, said he was confident police would provide security and stability to mosques and that Muslims would practice their normal lives.
Despite this, the head of the Islamic Council of Fiji Hafezuddin announced that a mosque and several shops on the outskirts of Fiji’s capital Suva were looted last Thursday.
