No security threat for Arbaeen pilgrims

An official in Iraq’s province of Karbala there are no security threats for pilgrims during the Arbaeen season.

 

An official in Iraq’s province of Karbala there are no security threats for pilgrims during the Arbaeen season.

Sindis Omran, member of the provincial council, said the province, especially its western areas, are fully secure and there is no danger threatening Arabeen pilgrims.

He added that a meeting was held in Karbala on Wednesday to review security arrangements for the occasion.

Omran also said air coverage by military jets will be important for ensuring security of the pilgrims.

Arbaeen comes 40 days after Ashura, the martyrdom anniversary of the third Shia Imam, Imam Hussein, peace be upon him.
