Nangarhar provincial health officials said on Monday that in the last three months 160 people have been killed and over 490 wounded in the province in serious security incidents.

According to the officials most of the victims have been civilians – all either killed or wounded in 30 insurgent-related incidents including armed attacks, complex attacks, explosions and criminal incidents.
The officials said that in this time more attacks took place in Nangarhar than in Kabul.
“From these incidents, 650 people killed and wounded were transferred to hospital, of which 160 were dead,” Najib Kamawal, head of Nangarhar health department said.
Nangarhar provincial council officials meanwhile said the sharp increase in civilian fatalities in the province is of serious concern.
