The General Secretariat of the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine has announced on Friday, April 1st, the initiation of work to establish a distinctive cultural and intellectual complex in Pakistan to spread the teachings of the infallible imams, Allah’s peace and blessings be upon them.
The big announcement was declared through SayyidAfdhal al-Shami, Deputy Secretary-General of Imam Hussein Holy Shrine, in a stately ceremony held on the sidelines of Naseem Karbala Cultural Week and with presence from official delegations from the Shia Endowment and the holy shrines in Iraq.
“With the assistance from the Almighty and the Ahlulbayt, the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein was able to acquire a 12-hectare land located 20 km from the city center of Islamabad. 75% of the cost was donated by an Ahlulbayt lover and the remaining 25% was paid by the shrine,” said al-Shami, pointing out the plan to build one of the largest cultural and intellectual complexes in Pakistan.
This is the third edition of Naseem Karbala Cultural Week, an annual event held in Pakistan by the holy shrines in Iraq in cooperation with Kawthar University.
