Imam Hussain Holy Shrine announces special plan to transport pilgrims during the massive Arbaeen Pilgrimage
The General Secretariat of Imam Hussain Holy Shrine announced that it has developed a special plan to transport pilgrims to and from the main checkpoints in Karbala during the massive Arbaeen Pilgrimage.
The Assistant Head of the Mechanisms Department at the Holy Shrine, Ali Fouad al-Fadhli, said, “Following the directives of the Chief Cleric of Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, Sheikh Abdul-Mahdi al-Karbalaey, a special plan has been developed to transport pilgrims to and from the checkpoints.”
Al-Fadhli indicated, “The main axis that will be worked on is the Karbala-Babylon Road, meaning from the district of al-Hindiya (Twereej), in addition to the neighboring districts.”
He explained, “There are a number of service vehicles that will operate during the pilgrimage, including coach buses, coaster buses, ambulances, and other vehicles to transport pilgrims to the nearest point to the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him).”
Around 600 vehicles of different types will be operated in coordination with the local government to serve the pilgrims.
