Najaf prepares to celebrate the Greatest Day of God, Eid al-Ghadir

The Province of Najaf is preparing to celebrate the Greatest Eid, Eid al-Ghadir, tomorrow, Monday, as large crowds of local and foreign pilgrims are expected to arrive in the holy city to visit the shrine of the Commander of the Faithful, Ali ibn Abi Talib, peace be upon him.

Najaf police spokesman Colonel Miqdad Al-Mousawi said in a statement followed by Shia Waves News Agency, “The province police, in partnership with the Imam Ali Division, have started implementing their security plans for the Eid Al-Ghadir visit,” noting that the climax of the visit will be tomorrow, Monday.”

Al-Mousawi added that the plan focused on the intelligence effort, gathering information and dealing with it on a timely basis, indicating that it would adopt security cordons to secure the entry of pilgrims and the smooth flow of their access to the holy shrine of Imam Ali, peace be upon him.

He pointed out that the police command focused during the past few days on the external checkpoints of the entrances to the province from all directions.
